C&R Manufacturing recently opened our doors to dozens of students and teachers from local high schools to learn about the great opportunities for careers at our company and in manufacturing. The events were coordinated with the celebration of Manufacturing Day on October 4, a day dedicated to educating local communities around the countries about career possibilities in the manufacturing sector.
C&R Manufacturing hosted more than 20 teachers from the Shawnee Mission and De Soto School Districts on October 2 for a tour of our facilities and to learn more about career opportunities at our company and in the manufacturing sector. The visit also allowed teachers to learn about how they can help students better prepare for manufacturing careers. The visit was organized by the Shawnee Economic Development Council as part of its Teacher Immersion Session.
On September 18, Basehor-Linwood brought more than 25 students from its robotics class to tour our facilities and learn about the machines and processes that we use at the company. Later this month, C&R Manufacturing will be hosting students from an engineering class at the schools for a similar visit.
“C&R Manufacturing is pleased to partner with our local schools and districts to educate parents, teachers and students about the great careers in manufacturing available right here in Shawnee,” said C&R Manufacturing President Ron Wosel. “The fact is that there are many position openings in manufacturing, and our industry offers good jobs at good wages in clean, state-of-the-art high-tech facilities. C&R Manufacturing is committed to continuing to partner with schools and other organizations in our community to change perceptions and attract the workforce of tomorrow to the manufacturing sector.”
